  • Interviews are typically conducted from late October through early January.

  • Virtual interview format has been established during the pandemic.

  • Interviews are optimized to make efficient use of the applicant's time.

  • Morning and afternoon sessions consist of panel interview (PD, APD, chief resident) and "virtual waiting room" discussion with current residents.

  • Informational presentation by chief resident is held at mid-day for both AM and PM groups.

  • In person "2nd look" visits can be arranged, depending on pandemic status.

  • While thank yous and questions are welcome, we typically do not participate in routine post interview communication. Perceived "likelihood to match" is not relevant to match algorithm and should not be a factor in rank list construction.

INTERVIEWS

  • When constructing your rank order list, should you plan to rank Ascension Providence, please use the following codes:

  • Radiology(Advanced): 1303420A0
All applicants wishing to rank our program will use this code. Applicants will create a linked supplementary rank order list (ROL) of preliminary/TY (PGY-1) programs that will be used if they match with our advanced Diagnostic Radiology program (PGY-2).

  • Transitional Year / Radiology: 1361999P2
Applicants wishing to complete transitional year at Providence Rochester / WSU will include this code on the supplementary rank list described above.

  • This TY code can only be used on the supplementary ROL linked to the advanced Radiology program; therefore an applicant can only match to this slot if they match with our Diagnostic Radiology program - effectively reserving/guaranteeing the slot and functioning like a categorical program.  A separate code is available if you wish to rank the Transitional Year program separately (on supplementary rank order lists linked to other advanced / PGY-2 programs.)

  • Further details regarding the match algorithm and Joint A/P structure can be found on the NRMP website.
